Extremely tired and exhausted from exploring the night before, Cardinal dragged herself early in the morning to go and get supplies for the following week. They had ran out of herbs for popular medicines they’d use, too. Although they could’ve all waited a couple of days before getting them, she decided to arise and restock whilst everyone was still asleep. It gets it out of the way and meant others could continue resting.

Grabbing her clippers and pickaxe, she gently attached them to her harness before setting off. Car went down her usual path and nothing was out of the ordinary. She started going up the hill she’d always pass through, when her legs began to shake and the ground lifted up slightly from underneath her. She looked down and immediately noticed she was walking on wet moss. Anywhere else, this wouldn’t be an issue. But she was familiar with the area and knew that Golems would frequent here. Car rolled her eyes in irritation, it would be just her luck that this would happen to her. Out of all the ways she could have went today.

One of the stones up ahead questioned her before she had a chance to speak out and apologise… “And why do you disturb our deep slumber, Courser??” Car sighed. “It was not my intention in the slightest, if I knew you were using this route today I would not have passed.” She responded, stepping backwards slightly so she was on the gravel again and completely off of this ‘family’ of Golems ahead of her. “If you’d like to pass, we wouldn’t be opposed to a gift.” It replied, looking up at her. Car knew this was coming and had already began retrieving some coin from her pouch for them. She placed it on the ground and the Golem closer to her took it in its grip before curling back under itself. 

The elder Golem didn’t respond, just smiled as thanks before also returning to its position. Car took this as its approval to continue on her journey so she gently stepped on each of them, making sure not to slide on the moss. She sighed from relief as she reached the other side of them, thankful that no issues were caused this day, as she knew some had been in the past. Certain ones were friendlier than others but all of the ones she’d come across had been positive thus far.
