At a glance, the room doesn’t seem to have anything of interest in the treasure department, which almost leads Corvus to turn and leave right then and there. It’s the sound of dripping water that gives her pause, and she looks to the center of the chamber to find a pool, about a Courser-length wide.

She was a bit thirsty, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to fill her waterskin. With a sigh, she allows herself to kneel at the pool’s edge, peering down into the crystal-clear water. It doesn’t look very deep, but tiny shapes dart around at the bottom of it, catching her eye. As she begins to drink from the cool water, she watches the creatures, their brilliantly colored exoskeletons flashing as they catch the warm light from her nearby lantern.

Strangely enough, they seem to turn to her, scurrying across the bottom of the pool to investigate this intrusion. Their long feelers and tiny legs brush against her nose, and it tickles. She gives an involuntary snort in response, creating a sudden burst of bubbles in the water and sending the colorful invertebrates flying away from her. She pulls her head back, feeling a little bad, until the creatures seem to regain their footing and dart back to where her nose had just been. Their antenna wave back and forth, and though they’re tiny, Corvus gets the sense that they’re reaching for her.

She gives a quiet huff and looks over her shoulder. Good, it seems she’s still alone. Content with that, she dips her face back into the water, the critters rushing up to her once more. She can’t help but giggle quietly to herself. It’s rare for the Crow to smile, but taking herself seriously all the time is exhausting. So long as there are no witnesses, Corvus is willing to let her guard down and relax for a bit.
