You’ve heard that the dungeon’s fungi are connected to one another in a system resembling a brain, even resulting in something like intelligence. You experience this for yourself when a fungal growth in the shape of a Courser meets you at the end of a tunnel – but not just any Courser. You. It seems to be mirroring your movements. How do you proceed?

Startled by the sudden appearance of the stranger lurking in the darkness before him, Bartholomew's instinct drive him to battle. He lands an immediate blow to the face only to be met with the same abuse to his own mug.  He falls back from the force of it. A painful welt grows on his cheek. As Bart readies himself for another he notices that the stranger's movements mirror his own.  Every step, every twitch, the same. And even more the thing even looks like him! How peculiar... How... disgusting? Bart then also notices the colony of mushrooms growing in and around his doppelgänger. If imitation is a form of flattery, Bart decides he doesn't appreciate this attempt at it. Slowly he backs away and the shroomy monster does the same. 

Time to find another tunnel.
