Amir continued on in the caverns and wound up in a cave with a huge pool of water and an even larger toad. It looked far too big to be real and it was staring at him with an indiscernible look. Not that Amir particularly considered himself to be an expert on frog emotions.

"Hey courser!" it croaked.

Amir sighed in his heart.

Great, it is sentient too. This is going to be either very nice or go awry very fast.

"Hello!"

"You have the touch of nature on you!" the frog croaked, "Lend me some energy."

Amir was glad he was near enough to the entrance to make a grand escape. However, the frog was asking nicely and not just taking.

"I can cast a ward that will keep this room pristine and filled with natural mana," Amir offered.

"Please do! I will reward you!" the frog promised.

Amir didn't know what reward if any the frog would have in mind. He gave his owl a piece of marble and instructed it to fly over near to the edge of the pond and drop it there. It did so and returned for another piece. One both pieces were placed, Amir buried the one under his feet, creating a triangle. Then he stepped just outside of it and cast the ward of sanctity.

The area was instantly filled with a soft green light and the frog exhaled deeply and then started to croak happily swaying from side to side.
