[DD3] Kamphire x Calix: Return to the Moor 8
Calix and Kamphire set out on the moor with Casey ranging in front of them. The curious foal had spent nearly ten minutes fascinated by the red hue of the water and was now running from bush to bush with the wisp, peeking under it to see if she could find anything.
Following leisurely behind her, Calix and Kamphire who now found themselves as new parents, were still talking about the next steps they would take.
"Is there a day release school for foals in Luciana Township?" Kamphire asked Calix.
"Yes there are two schools. One for the rich and one for the normal courser families," Calix explained, "Also if you don't mind a little travel there is an excellent day release school in Windrise as well."
"Windrise is about two hours away right?" Kamphire queried.
"Yes, at most she would need to set out early with one of us to get there at the nine am start time but I think she would enjoy the trek," Calix said, "Also you could look into buying a home nearer to Windrise too... it's not uncommon to choose where you want to live based on schooling."
Kamphire hummed.
"I don't want to be so far away from Edos just on account of a school," Kamphire admitted, "Or far away from you either obviously. And a two hour trek one way is too much."
"What about hiring a tutor to come to your home?" Calix suggested, "That can help make up for the difference in teaching between the Luciana school and the Windrise one."
"This is more to consider than I expected," Kamphire admitted.
"We're in this together," Calix reminded him, "We'll figure it out"
"Papa! Look!"
Casey came ambling over with an amulet in her mouth. Calix was instantly alert because it had the image of the Wolf Thorn Militia coat arms reflected in the depths of the shiny stone.
"It's pretty but it's not ours right now. Let me take it and you show me where you found it and we'll put it back Casey," Calix said in an even tone.
"Okay Dad!"
"Stay here, Kamphire," Calix instructed and he went off into the brush with the foal.
Kamphire was amused that for some reason, he was 'Papa' and Calix was 'Dad'.
He hoped they could get rid of the amulet without further trouble since Calix seemed on guard against it.
