Varith was in the middle of composing a new song, sitting in the grass somewhere in the dungeon. It was a quiet place and pretty so Varith often liked to curl up in the grass when he needed to be alone. He was in the middle of singing when a weight fell on his back, clinging to him. He tried to see the thing, to reach it and fling it off, but he couldn't do it. Varith rolled over and over, crashing his back into the ground and then a nearby tree eventually crushing the thing with his weight. 

Varith was shaken when he returned to Caedemir and the soft Courser looked at him, concerned. “Var? Is everything okay? You look a bit… pale,” Caede asked.

“I’m not, but I don’t want to talk about it,” Varith said, collapsing next to him and putting his head on his front legs. He was still shaking and trembling so Caedemir pressed in closer and pulled and blanket over the two of them, offering some silent comfort.
