[DD3] The Mystery of Solomon Strange 13

Goud went into the broken down mansion by himself to investigate. He was uncomfortable with leaving Nathaniel inside but he understood why both Ravin and Vynak needed to stay outside.

When he entered into the first room, he saw the strange sight of a humanoid and a courser hugging in death. He was startled by the sight and stopped to look at it. It was weird in and of itself but even stranger being inside of this room. he looked around the room carefully but could see nothing else that seemed related to the ill fated pair.

Just as he was about to leave the room, the bones glowed a faint grey and vanished! That rooted him to the stop with shock but he quickly gathered himself and went over to the area they had disappeared from to investigate.

The ground still had the indentation of he bones so it couldn't even be said that he had hallucinated them being there.

Goud frowned deeply and continued into the room. He was about to head into the library when he heard snippets of conversation that gave him pause.

"You're really a demon? Or are you just saying that to scare me?" Solomon asked.

"I know everything about you now, I finally grew tired of waiting for you to reveal the truth," Nathaniel said.

"If you're that powerful then who is outside listening in?" Solomon asked him, clearly not believing the prince.

"Goud," Nathaniel said simply, "But he is too loyal to share secrets."

Goud knew that the prince was correct but it still stung a little. He debated if to just go inside since he was discovered or leave.

"Come in Goud," Nathaniel urged him.

Goud entered an found an incredibly neat and well stocked library. All of the signs of neglect and decay present in the other parts of the house were absent.  Solomon and Nathaniel were facing off in the middle of the room.

"I wanted to spare Solomon the embarassment of being fully exposed but since he continues to hide so deeply, then it is fitting to have an audience," Nathaniel said.

Solomon looked a bit unsure and Goud almost felt sorry for the foal.

"Solomon is a fully grown courser, a magical genius perhaps, definitely a necromancer, who is using advance shadow magic to pretend to be a foal. We stumbled upon his lair and he decided to use this guise to get close to us and discover more about us," Nathaniel said, "I'm also sure he brought us to this library because he wants to use us are mule to carry all of his books out for him."

Solomon's unsureness changed to a look of shock and then resignation.

"Damn, you got me... but what makes you think you'll get out of here alive now that you know all of my secrets?" Solomon asked threateningly.

Goud was stunned by the change but Nathaniel simply laughed and then the next moment, his eyes went blood red.
