“Dear Seafoam…”

Cold voice echoed through the corridors, finally hitting the ears of the Courser, who was reading through some texts, analysing some pictures. The moment she heard her Martyr call her name she stood high, looking at her with expectation.

“Yes, what is the matter?”

“What was the name of that curious… Courser thing.”

“Fetch.”

Mahina thought for a moment, looking somewhere distant. She thought hard and precisely about some things and she decided, at that moment.

“Thank you, dear.”

Some silent moment was shared between them, Seafoam looking at Mahina, trying to deduct if she wanted anything else from her. Alas, no, nothing was coming from her mouth. At least, at first.

“You will control things here for a few days. I have trained you for this, I believe you will do just splendidly.”

Seafoam was quiet, her eyes widening for a moment. She was going to utter the words of objection, but… what Martyr was saying was… true. She was trained for this. Trained to be Mahina’s right hand. A sharp breath stopped the silence between them. She bowed to her Martyr.

“Of course.”

“Good child.”

…

And suddenly, Mahina was knee deep in the dungeon, looking for her way forward. She looked around, and then at Fetch. She found her in this little town and dragged her along.

“Fetch, do you know a way around?”

Fetch pouted her lips, thinking for a good while. She looked around, but to no avail.

“No, Miss Mahina. We need to get through this door.”

Mahina responded with a muffled “hm”, and said nothing else. 

Before her there was a door, with an angry look on its face and nothing else. She thought hard, closing in on the door, to further analyse it. She saw nothing… until.

Mahina reached out with her glittering hoof and wiggled it a little bit, under the chin of the face on the doors. Suddenly, it bursted out laughing and the door opened.

Mahina looked back at Fetch.

“Let’s go.”
