Everard was sure that the dungeon was up to his usual tricks when they came across the same circle with the strange symbols that had Onir so fascinated even though he had taken Latihir and Cassimir through by a completely different path.

Cassimir was actually dis-interested in it, which was surprising but even more shocking was Latihir who actually seemed excited to see it.

The dark green courser was circling the carving for the second time now and looking carefully at each segment. He seemed to be inspecting it as if looking for something.

"I don't know what he finds so interesting," Cassimir muttered.

Though he was speaking low, Latihir still managed to hear him from a good few feet away.

"Lady Onir told me about it and I didn't think I would get a chance to see it myself," Latihir explained, "I think I recognize some of the symbols from an old book of runes I bought from a travelling monk."

"He buys random junk at markets and fairs," Cassimir whispered to Everard, "It's his thing."

Everard could only nod.

Since it seemed he was stuck once again, he brought up the topic of marriage.

"Hasn't anyone arranged a marriage for you?" Everard asked him.

"It's a bit difficult..." Cassimir said, "I want to marry a Nevith if I can and finding one distantly related enough not to mess up the gene pool is proving a task."

Everad understood better now. Marrying cousins was not frowned upon but there needed to be a notable gap in the generations.

"I wish you good luck then," Everard said to him.

"Ah shucks, I thought you were about to offer," Cassimir responded, giving him a wink and tossing his mane.

Everard was rendered completely speechless for a second and then he sputtered.

"Ah, which branch are you from?" Everard asked finally.

"Fourth house, fourth generation," Cassimir said, "It would be legal..."

Everard went back to being speechless while Cassimir looked pleased with himself.

While the two of them were talking, Latihir continued his inspection and was even taking notes, completely oblivious to the courtship talk.
