[MEDIUM] Shadowed Arena
After their encounter with the whirlpool fountain they were sure would suck them in, Harpsichord and her son, Daybreak, and Reskal were much warier of where they put there hooves. Although, Honorius was quite happy that what came of the fountain was not danger, but in fact a puppy! The pup followed after the young colt with a constant wag and a hop in its step.
The four coursers made their way through the dungeon, heading deeper and taking in the sights. Sure, it wasn't without danger, but it was beautiful, too. Even the monsters had their beauty. Well, most of them anyway.... at least, that's what Harpsichord thought. There was beauty to be found in everything.
She'd glance down to her hooves as they walked, watching the solid ground quickly change to..... sand. Confused, she'd look back up to find them standing in a round chamber and gasp at the ghastly figure ahead of them, ears flicking back in nervousness. Then she'd look up to the surrounding levels above them.... where even more shadows watched. An arena of some sort, it'd seem. Perhaps a coliseum? Whatever it was, she quickly guarded Honorius and his pup.
Daybreak and Reskal at the lead were clearly just as nervous, but Daybreak kept their cool. "Ah...... seems we've walked into a fight," they'd utter back to Harpsichord, then look back towards the figure, "the two of us can handle it, I'd think. Keep yourself and Honorius safe." With a quick motion, they'd draw their weapon, eyes flicking across the upper levels at the shadowy figures that were watching in anticipation.
Reskal, despite his nervous demeanor, followed Daybreak's actions the same. "Right.... Don't worry, we've got this." He'd snort, pulling his weapon from its sheath, head lowered to take the ghastly courser spirit on with his companion.
"S'gonna be okay, puppy! They're strong, okay?" Honorius looked to his puppy, shuffling close to the hound and pressing his nose to the little golden pup's head. While his words spoke of comfort to the dog, it was clear it was meant for himself, tail flicking about nervously. He hadn't seen a ghost yet, and it took everything in him not to turn tail and run away. He knew his mama would keep him safe.
As the group took up their positions, the spirit launched itself towards Daybreak and Reskal, letting out an echoing whinny, cold and spinechilling. It flew through Reskal first, who appeared less prepared than the Puck beside him. He let out a gasp of surprise, choked as it felt as though the ghost had stolen his breath from within him. He'd regain his grip on his sword before it could fall after his gasp, then turn and swing towards the horse, though it was faster than he'd anticipated and had already began rushing to Daybreak.
Ever the observant, Daybreak saw the ghost coming and swung their scythe as the former beast flew, cutting right through it. As its form dissipated in the middle, it'd let out another ghastly cry, ear piercing as it did, then it'd quickly reform and go right back towards the two of them for more.
"Ach..... how unpleasant. Reskal, ready yourself again!" The Puck snorted, flicking an ear while they readied once more.
