[DD3] Reflections of The Past?
Banjo followed in step with the phthalo pearl in front of him. He was warned ahead of time that Everard was hardened and not easy to work with, but Banjo ignored them. He black tobiano has been through the dungeons enough to hopefully not seem too new to all of this. So, Everard doesn’t have to keep a close eye on the other Courser.
Banjo hummed to himself, keeping in step with the Puck. His eyes scanned the ruined area around them. Seeing destroyed towers, ruined and fading banners, skeletons of varying species. Something not new to him as he’s down to this level many times. He snapped out of his thoughts as he heard Everard speak up, “Surprised you’re able to keep up, youngster.”
Banjo’s brown eyes looked back to the older Courser, “Taking that a complement….but, I don’t exactly enjoy “sightseeing” this level of the dungeon. Not exactly the type to stop and see everything.”
Everard huffed, “I suppose that’s good.” He looked forward once before adding, “We’ll stop for a moment. There is a pool over this direction that is safe to drink from.”
Banjo nodded his head and kept up to follow. They both decided to stop for sometime, to let their legs take a break from walking. He whistled for his companion, Batty, to come land with him. As he waited he looked towards the pool of water. Seeing the shimmer waters invite him in. Licking his lips, stepping closer towards it.
As he neared the way, hes eyes blinked in surprise, rather seeing the dungeon's reflection; There were flying banners, marching polearms and tents, like an active battlefield. This was strange? Nothing like this was happening at all around him. He looked up to double check, still seeing the ruined area. He neared as he grew curious. He saw his own face, but something looked off. It was as if he was possibly staring into a past life. In the fake sky of the waters, he saw a shadow, and what he thought he saw was a dragon, flying in his direction. He yelped as he stumbled back. But, what came towards him was Batty. Hearing the little squeaks as the pat crawled up into his mane. Banjo sighed as he shook his head, then hearing hoofsteps come up behind him. “Everything alright?” Everard questioned, “What’s got you jumpy?”
“Just….saw something. Nothing to worry about.” Banjo responded, “Possibly saw a glimpse into the past.”
A shallow pond sprawls out like a mirror in front of you. When you approach, the reflection shows flying banners, marching polearms and tents – not the silent battlefield you stand in. Do you dare look at your own reflection amidst the thrum of war?
