[DD1] slipping under the weather
They hadn’t been back to the dungeons, not for a while, their grief muffling and all consuming, a silent drum in the thick air between their ears. They had thought that they’d spent time enough crushing the feelings until they were folded into a small box, a tiny thing that was, ultimately, impossible to see, but losing the plush rabbit…
No. They couldn’t stay focused on their own petty problems, couldn’t wallow in lonesome pain anymore. Others relied on them, to pave the way forward. Calypso was the instigator, the one who showed what was possible, but it was Armony who proved that anyone else could do it, too.
They disliked how hesitant they had been, how much of the shatter in themself had been seen by members of their village. They’d had to enter the dungeons, to prove to their tiny world that there was nothing to be too afraid of, but Armony had been filled of little else but fear.
Still, they’d taken the first step, and then another, and then they just kept moving until they ran into a wall and just broke apart, sobbing.
That was where Moritz found them.
And it was Moritz who found them now, hesitating once again and hating themself for it. “Should we go?” they said, voice so normal Armony almost felt like they would cry. No force or focus, no calling towards their weakness. Armony was the one who lead their village - but Moritz didn’t make them lead their adventures. And maybe it was okay, sometimes, for another to see them broken.
The odds of surviving the dungeon are greater in numbers. Every Courser has their role in a party: what’s yours? Or do you prefer to work alone without dividing your spoils?

song of choice : "Sunflower" by Icon for Hire.
Baby I'm a sunflower who can't bloom
'Cause it's so dark and cloudy in my room
