Homesick for a Bay

Giovanni lets out a soft hum as he awaits for Crispin to show up. The first dive with him was honestly a humbling experience. To see the war, the desolation, how the stones beneath his hooves are still stained with blood. It was horrific to think his own blood could be added to the mess. Always a part of him remaining in the ruins of what once was. At least some part of him would carry. Morbid thinking, he’s spent too much time with Seance.

Crispin arrives and Gi nods to the other white horse. “Back down there?” he asks curiously and Crispin nods. “There is much we can learn from our history. A history before we even were.” he remarks and Giovanni nods and glances down at Asoroth. “Stay close Asoroth, can’t afford to find you if things get messy.” he says to the snake, who merely nods with acceptance at that. He feels her tightening around his neck, holding still, she finds comfort in the warmth of her companion.

Diving down below the pair makes small talk, asking a few personal questions. Wondering if there was anyone else waiting for them to return. Shyly Giovanni mentions a Bay he is eager to see after this, to tell him of what he sees to share some knowledge. Crispin grins, crooked teeth showing as he grins a worn and tired smile, but there is comfort in that smile. “Good, you need some things worth coming back home too. Too many lose their way here, do not add to that.” Crispin states firmly. Giovanni nods and understands completely.

Hours pass and they seem to come across the same harrowing image. A bloody battlefield, remains of those that had come years before them. Wonders a little morbidly, if any had been a friend of Crispin here below, wonders if the stallion ever wonders when he too will add to the body count. No, too depressing, too much like Seance, he really needs a break from the sad death lover.

Crispin moves forwards a tattered flag, but an image is easily seen within it. Giovanni narrows his eyes at the image of a pentacle with two coursers nearly biting at each other. A gruesome image he thinks, Seance would love it. Gi stands still looking up at the image letting it soak into his mind, letting him remember it so he can tell Dae about it. “What does it mean?” he asks Crispin. He looks over the other and frowns a bit at the forlorn look to the older one. A far away look and he wonders if maybe he had over stepped.

“A sad thing to see, seems like a curse of the sort.” he mutters as he looks at the pentacle, he thinks nothing good comes from it, if it makes the coursers turn on each other. Wonders if there was a war against their kind. There are so many questions and he doesn’t think he will get any answers from them. Giovanni looks down to Asoroth. “Maybe you have some good ideas?” he asks the snake. Who only seems to flick her tongue up at him. “Yeah we are not really one of those deep thinkers huh.” he muses a bit. Eyes turn to Crispin, who gives him a single nod. Time to get moving he supposes. “Still have a lot to see?” he asks the older one. Crispin offers the all too familiar crooked smile. “Yup.” he says with a loud pop at the P. Well at least he’ll have a story to tell Dae when he gets back.
