[DD2] Brains, Brawn, Charm
Everyone had their brains and their brawn. You had to have smarts to find the way. You had to have muscle to pave the path for that way. While Icarus considered himself both smart and strong, as these were qualities any knight to boot should have, he felt his role in their party was simply too unique to pass up.
Brains: Achimedes.
Brawn: Diomedes.
Charm, of course, had to fall to Icarus. Those morons wouldn't know charm, charisma, the ability to work the crowd, if it bit them in the rear! Yes, it had to be Icarus's enlightening conversational skills that brought the warmth of the sun to their every adventure. His quick wit, his flattery, his tolerance of Dio's bitey teeth and that incessant need to be chomping down on anything in sight, even if it was one of them - these were all simple facets of his charm. When they would inevitably be revered as the greatest adventurers of all time throughout every kingdom, they would need a poster boy for the PR, and who better than Icarus himself?
There was that one time, he stood his ground and talked their way out of an altercation with a slime. (It did not speak Courser. It looked them in the eyes, then blobbed its merry way somewhere else because it got so confused why neither side would attack as this creature rambled on about a "flattering shade of gelatin" and "that really suits spring time.")
If he could charm monsters, then he held no doubts that he could charm their way into bigger missions than their own self-managed dives! Perhaps a king would enlist their help to track down their damsel in distress, and Icarus would come swooping in to save the day. If a too curious foal wandered their way down into the first levels and hopelessly could not get out, then Icarus could talk them gently and softly back into the safety of their party to return them home where they belonged. That would be his first fan, of course, a bright-eyed little one so excited by the prospect of growing up to be just like their rescuer some day. And Icarus would be responsible, of course, tell them to wait until they were old enough and strong enough to take on the dangers of the Dungeon, to never go in alone again.
Icarus is also what his friends would call a dreamer. But charmer sounds much lovelier, doesn't it?
[DD2] The odds of surviving the dungeon are greater in numbers. Every Courser has their role in a party: what’s yours? Or do you prefer to work alone without dividing your spoils?
