[DD2] The Tales of the Empty Grave 0013
When they had rested enough that Phaze was ready to go again they surveyed the three exits carefully.
"I think we should use this one, I can hear the faint sound of the forge. This one will lead out to Earthern Cauldron," Ruin reported.
They all agreed with that and headed into the passageway. It was dark at first but got increasing warmer and brighter the closer they got to end.
At the end of the passage way was a large face carved into the wall.
"This looks like it's a door to the furnaces," Quillerian commented.
"It looks angry just like the courser statue that tried to cook us," Ruin noted, "And its eyes are glowing red too, I don't trust it."
The ever brave Phaze went up to it and pressed the giant nose of the angry looking face with his muzzle. Then were was a click and the face split neatly in half with each half swinging to either side to let through through.
"Wow, well.. that worked," Phaze said with a laugh.
"I think that if we had continued on in that hellish fort we would have found a lot of things," Ruin lamented.
"That might be the case but we were also cutting it close several times there," Quillerian reminded him, "If anything we should mark this location and let Jordan and his team go."
"If they had any sense they would take you or Benedict along just in case," Phaze commented, "If anyone gets hurt they will need you."
Quill didn't bother to comment on that.
He directed the Skeleton to walk abreast of him now that he was more confident of being able to handle whatever dangers might come their way.
Benedict was still a bit quiet after the mirror and Quill vowed to tackle him on it as soon as they were either back in camp or resting for a longer person of time. Such things could greatly impact the mind and necromancer required a pristine psychic field.
