[DD1] Lost and Found
Riley hummed to herself as she trotted through the Dungeon. After receiving more freedom from her brother to come and go into the Dungeon as she pleased, she was happy to just roam and explore to her heart’s content. She regularly went this route, it was a simple one but the last room always seemed to have a new treasure loaded in for her to obtain. Gold, valuables, scrolls, anything she could think of. One time, even cave roots had been her treasure.
As Riley turned to enter what she had deemed the final room, a flash of yellow smeared her vision. At first she assumed it was gold, but the flash of yellow moved further back into the room. Riley blinked, this was a Courser. Yellow, red, and blue. Colorful. The yellow Courser seemed sniffly, glaring warily at Riley and standing their ground. Kind of.
“Hello?” Riley called out, walking into the room. The Courser tensed up, so Riley stopped. “I’m not gonna hurt ya! I’m Riley, just a solo adventurer!” she sung. The Courser seemed to sniffle towards her, which caught Riley’s attention. “Are you crying?”
“No! ….Maybe,” the Courser sniffled, tilting their head away. “I’m just lost. That’s all.”
Riley let out a soft hum of thought, trotting over. “Do you need help getting out? I can help ya,” she offered, dipping her head.
The golden Courser looked her over, then huffed nervously. They slowly approached, their ears pinned back. “I’m Titter. Get me out of here,” they grumbled. Riley blinked at them, then smiled. They were just scared, that was fine.
“Come on, then. Stick close,” Riley said, turning to trot back from where she came. Titter blinked in alarm, hurrying after Riley. The yellow Courser hung close, trotting impatiently. They just wanted out of the Dungeon already. It would be a long trip back, the rest of the day at that, but Riley knew Titter could make it. They walked for a while, Titter getting scared by most noises and Riley having to reassure them that they were safe with her.
After some time an entrance came into view, light shining brightly down into the Dungeon. Titter let out a whinny, running up to the entrance and quickly climbing out. Riley followed after with some laughter. Titter turned their head back, nodding to Riley. “Thank you,” they mumbled out, dipping their head respectfully before trotting away.
You stumble upon a fellow adventurer who is hopelessly lost on this level of the dungeon. Will you help them? *Can* you help them?
