[DD3] Kamphire X Calix: Return to the Moor 5
They continued to investigate after securing carrion crawler and Kamphire successfully bonding with the wisp. Unlike his scythe and Jebadiah, the wisp didn't talk, but he could still direct it easily.
The two of them came upon a shallow pond in the midst of the field. It wasn't blood red which was the first thing that Kamphire found curious. On peeking into it, he got a shock.
"Calix, look it's showing me the past battles?!" Kamphire cried out.
Calix came over to where he was standing and looked into it but he shook his head a moment later.
"I believe you hon but I don't see anything," Calix reported.
Kamphire couldn't believe it.
He cloud clearly see the procession of horses and their two legged riders along with all of the regalia. If he didn't know better he would think they were really passing by behind him.
"Maybe it is because of your connection to the harvester?" Calix suggested.
Kamphire believed that might be the case but without someone who was also connected to the harvester like Edos or Flynn around then he wouldn't be able to tell if that was true or not. He sighed softly.
"I almost don't want to look away," Kamphire said, "It's so real."
"Maybe tell me what you see and I will make a note of it?" Calix offered, "It might help us when we're collecting the various item around here."
Kamphire thought there was some wisdom in that so he obliged.
After about ten minutes though, Calix brought him away from the pond.
"You'll get trapped there looking at it forever," Calix said, "And you are getting more spacey and somber as the seconds pass."
Kamphire hadn't noticed any change in himself but now that he was a bit away from the pond, he suddenly felt sleepy. He even yarned.
"I feel drained..." he admitted.
"I think that is enough for this session then," Calix unilaterally decided. Kamphire didn't argue with him and followed behind Calix with his wisp floating near his neck.
"I'm grateful to you," Kamphire blurted out.
"Why are you saying that suddenly?" Calix asked him, "Though, I am also grateful to you as well."
"I feel free to explore here because of you, so I am thankful."
"I see. You're welcome, Kamphire."
Kamphire felt shy suddenly and given that he was tired he didn't really know what to do with the emotion, so he kept quiet for the rest of the trip back.
