Corsair hasn't been in the caverns very much yet. He certainly hasn't had experience with anything else in here beyond the lichen and moss and the occasional bat overhead. It's weird, then, weirder all the same, that he finds himself in a small alcove that he almost thinks he recognizes.

Logically he shouldn't. He's long past the points he has mapped out. But this space seems familiar and—

Ada trills by his dad and it twitches. He turns a little to look at the Pygmy Dragon. She flaps her wings pointedly and drops back onto the ground. There's a little arrow scraped into the stones, pointing the direction they'd been coming from.

"How long were we walking in circles?"

Ada trills again, swishing her tail. Corsair sighs. She wasn't going to give him an answer, and that in itself was an answer.

Longer than he'd like to have been.

"You know if we get stuck down here you'll starve too, right?" He flicks his tail and turns around, his head low so that he can spot anymore arrows. "Least you can do is draw the map. Why do you follow me again? To see me suffer?"

Ada chirped; her voice slid up and down like a tittering laugh.

"Of course you would." Corsair flicks an ear and trots confidently forward. "Well. So long as there's arrows—" He's forced to halt as he steps directly on something that squishes unpleasantly. He lifts his hoof and blanches when the squishy thing comes with him.

Oh those are tentacles actually that are attaching themselves to him.

The desire to shake it off his hoof and the knowledge that shaking it won't help war within him. He wrinkles his nose and points his hoof instead at Ada. "Do you want a snack?"

The pygmy drake definitely makes a sound that is akin to laughter, but she swoops forward and pries the tentacled creature off of Corsair's hoof. With dextrous claws, far more dextrous than they should be considering her size, she peels the creature open and cheerfully eats it without question.

Corsair wrinkles his nose again. "Right. Anyway. Let's keep going." And off they trot further into the caverns.
