Litany had found the rope, and come back. Some careful timed dangling saw the thrashing thing's neck and head incidentally slipping into the loop that Litany had tied with his teeth. 

A while later yet, he had managed to drag it out of the pool, and was currently hauling it into the next section, where he could presumably easier free the 'horse' trapped inside. It crawled now and then, aiding his dragging. Very helpful.

"Good, thank you- I'll get all this muck off you once we're in somewhere a bit safer, and then when we find my Shield, we'll be quite safe and we can escort you out-"

There was a loud wet squelching sound, and it wasn't from the goo covered horse. Litany's hoof paused midair, and slowly he panned his gaze up the staircase behind him to the left.

A singular, damp looking eye peered at both him and the muck-covered individual. The eye was contained, suspended moreso, in the body of what was, from Shield's descriptions, clearly a slime. The head? Or at least the eye of the creature tilted, staring at Litany. It then started moving faster towards him and his cargo.

"...Shit-  if you can crawl faster--"
