[BOSS] The Skull 2 - Bergara, Halbert , Iskra , Madej
Bergara x Halbert
The group started to wander back through which they came to see if they could find other paths that would lead deeper into the dungeons' depths. They had left the throne room now and started down the dark cavernous paths that seemed to go on forever as the shadows danced in the torchlight. Halbert was already starving after already eating and started to rummage through his back, burying his face into it as they walked and pulled out a bright red apple to snack on. Instantly, Shadow started meowing and wanted a piece of the apple as he was already starving as well and The reddish courser went ahead and broke the apple in half and fed it to the hungry black cat. “Why is it that you are always eating Halbert?” the skeletal courser went up beside him and leaned in as he watched him eat his apple. The sounds of their hooves echoing through the dungeons caves as they made their way back to where they fought the skull. “Well its not my fault that i'm always hungry” the courser took another bite of his apple and looked over at his companion. “Shadow is always hungry as well” he then started rummaging through his bag once more to pull out another apple for them to eat. “Would you like an apple Bergara?” He held out the apple in front of him for the skeletal courser to take. “Sure why not” he then took the apple from halbert and started to eat it quickly. Then at the end of the tunnel he could see the reddish glow of the candles that were left behind from the skull's room. Something felt off however as the air felt thick and still and all of sudden the chamber started to shake and a loud screech could be heard from at the end of the tunnel. “Be careful everyone, we need to see what is going on up ahead”. With that Bergara pulled out his weapon quickly and Halbert pulled out his shield and the group went along to see what was going on.
Madej x Iskra
These dungeons seemed to feel endless. Chambers and rooms seemed to continually multiply, their order and structure making no real sense as time dragged on. With each step they took, it pulled them further away from the throne room from which they came and closer to what Iskra hoped would be a new location - a location that would perhaps lead to an exit. Madej picked up his pace just enough to walk side by side with Bergara, leaning down just enough to whisper in the young male’s ear as the other munched on his apple, casting a quick sideways glance back over his shoulder as he spoke. “Man, that chick back there is starting to creep me out,” again, the male’s eyes chanced a glance back at the sunset-hued female in their midst who seemed to do little else other than stew in her anger, “Why did we let her tag along again? Really putting a damper on the whole exploring thing, here.” While he was eagerly awaiting a response from his friend - figuring he had to chew some more before he could speak - something caught his attention from up ahead. The noise was soft at first - what Madej believed to be stone grating against stone. It grew louder, and soon enough, the small corridor started
Again, the stone was their only company as Iskra and Madej moved along the cavernous hall, and once more, the more seasoned adventurer picked up on the soft, red light at the end of the passageway, she looked at it in disbelief.
Could it be the same room all over again?
Were they truly going around in circles or were all of these rooms truly interconnected? She couldn’t be sure, but as she drew closer to the next room, its likeness was becoming more and more familiar to her until she finally conceded that they must've found the same room once again. “Be on your guard,” she told them all as she approached the entrance into the new chamber, shooting a sharp glance over her shoulder before she stepped within the room. The candles were still flickering with their eerie light, bathing the whole room in red as an ancient-looking altar stood alone amongst all of the candles. Most of the material on the stand looked worn, but the book that was placed upon it almost seemed untouched, pristine as if it had only been put down a moment ago. Iskra leaned forward slightly, squinting to see the piece of literature better, as if too appeared to be familiar to the older female, but it suddenly became blocked from view as Madej trotted again ahead of her, taking a closer peek at the book that was left upon the altar. “Huh… This room seems kind of spooky,” the male acknowledged with a slight tilt of his head as he came around the back of the stand to reach the book. It appeared to already be open, and beckoned him closer to see the words written down on the page. “Hah! Check it out guys, I'm gonna read you a passage from this here ol’ book.”
“I wouldn't do that if I were you, boy,” Iskra warned, “There’s more power contained within than you can imagine.” The stallion couldn't help but laugh at her words, his expression a smug one as he responded to her. “Oh, well, someone’s starting to sound a lot like Bergara right now,” he jeered before dramatically clearing his throat. “Here we go!” The young adventurer began reading a long excerpt from the page, reciting it word for word before the air within the room began to stir and soon, the earth began to tremble and shake before Madej’s voice began to slowly falter. Panic began to set in to the group in all but Iskra, for she knew what was coming. “You will get what you wished for,” The mare’s voice rang out, rising above the clamor as the creature of legend was summoned before their very eyes. Its boney jaws opened to gnash its terrible teeth, and the skull was eager to begin their battle. It lunged first, trying to capture Madej within its constantly clamping teeth, but he was quick enough as Iskra began using her magic to attack her foe.
The light around her glowed bright as she hurled her attacks from a distance, confident enough that she could take the brunt of its attention with little issue. She kept it distracted while Madej struck the skeletal head with his weapon, and with the combined attacks of the others, they managed to bring down the creature with no casualties.
