[DD2] [DC] Helping Those In Need
To his left, his giant moth friend fluttered beside him, the sound of his dusty wings echoing in the black stallion's ears as it always did. It was relaxing, to say the least. A sign to the tobiano courser that his friend was there with him, ready to fight whatever creature this raging inferno of a furnace threw at them. The sound of hoof fall further in the dungeon halls broke the pattern of fluttering wings and his own steps, causing the large horse to stop in his tracks and indicate for Mothman to land.
“Who goes there?” Terryn called out, his deep voice booming through the halls and bouncing off the walls back to them. The hoof fall stopped before a soft, scared voice called back to them.
“Are you another courser?”
“Yes. My name is Terryn. Show yourself, who are you?” The stallion called out. It wasn’t often that they ran into another adventurer within the dungeon, but this new friend sounded terrified. They horse and moth watched in curiosity as a small snow white mare turned the corner of the furnace halls. Strapped carefully to her side was a broadsword that emitted the faintest light, resulting in her white fur nearly sparkling in the dark cave as though a torch of itself.
“You may call me Belle. I’ve been lost within this dungeon for so long, I need help out. I miss my family.” The mare strode closer, her eyes resting on Mothman who was now resting on Terryn's back.
The black tobiano stallion nodded before throwing his head back the direction they had just come from, “Come with us, we just got here so we can show you the way out.”
“Oh thank you so much, kind adventurer!”
The group carried on in silence towards the dungeon entrance. It wasn't a comfortable silence, instead a silence that made Mothman's skin crawl. Something about this snowy, glowing mare wasn't sitting right with the moth, but as long as she was with them, there was nothing he could say to Terryn.
As they neared the entrance to the dungeon, Terryn and Mothman turned around to face Belle, only to discover that she had somehow vanished. The black stallion looked over his shoulder at Mothman in bewildered concern, “She was just here, wasn't she?”
“I… Yes. I had just seen the glow from her broadsword.” Mothman exclaimed before taking to the air to look around the corners of the nearby hallways.
Terryn paused for a moment before turning back to Mothman, “Wait do you hear that?”
From the darkness before them, a small white mare with a glowing broadsword appeared once again. “Oh! Fellow adventurers, could you help me leave this dungeon? I've been lost for so long.”
“B-Belle?”
“How do you know my name?”
