Prompt: Your path is completely blocked by what seems at first to be a smooth boulder. Upon further inspection, it is the shell of an enormous snail. What do you do?

CLANG Clatter clatter…
“Goodbye, Little Guy,” Layan whispered.
The sound of the little crustacean with the chanfron shell faded into the distance, only an echo remained for a brief time before the regular sounds of the cave resumed. It all seemed less scary after that.
The path continued deeper into the caverns and eventually she came up to one of the cavern walls. She had seen no turns or forks in the path but a large purple-gray boulder sat against the wall of the cave. The surface was completely smooth and all edges were rounded. A large spiral took up the center and made Layan tilt her head.
“Oh no… was there a cave in? Where do I go now?”
Her question appeared to wake the creature within the boulder. Turned out it was not a boulder. Two eyes on two tall stalks stared down at the blue courser as a snail revealed that this was indeed its shell, not a boulder.
“Oh! I’m sorry, I didn't mean to wake you.”
It just stared back at her without acknowledging she said anything. Turning its eyes in the direction it was turned toward, it slowly began to slide away into the bush. Layan sat upon the path and watched, waiting to see what laid beyond the giant shell in her way. Eventually the tunnel came into view, then the opening widened until it was large enough for a courser.
“Thank you!” she chimed.
Hurrying through the entrance into the tunnel, she continued on her way, leaving the snail to its business.
