Shiny...

Flecks of glittering light danced off the dungeon walls as Morgue watched the beetles begin to fight. They charged, they clashed, and they rolled with the jewels on their back creating a glitter of colors along the stone walls.

The stallion cocked his head, ears perking forward as he took a few gracious steps towards the fighting beetles, “Hello?”

Then, without warning, one charged right into his hoof. It slammed hard, rattling its tiny body before rolling into its back and flailing its legs about.

Morgue huffed, rolling his eyes as he reached down to shove the beetle back over with his nose, “Stop being dumb as shit, dungeons ain’t a place for that.”

The beetle, now looking quite angry, started squeaking loudly and buzzing his wings in a show of strength. Morgue simply grinned, “You call that scary?” The way the beetle was trying to have some sort of conversation with other him wanted to make Morgue laugh.

He swished his tail as he stumped his hoof on the ground, snorting again. The gems on their backs did look.... Rather valuable.

He reached down, the beetle backing up ever so slightly as opened his mouth and grabbed onto the small insect with his teeth. It squealed, flailing its legs as Morgue turned his head to put the beetle in his satchel.

As he dropped the insect into the rather worn out satchel, he sighed, “Hey, I’m not gonna hurt ya, just chill.” He swished his tail as he stepped forward and grabbed another one, dropping it unceremoniously into the satchel.

The gems could be a valuable trading option if he ever runs into trouble...

Morgue decides to leave the rest of the fighting beetles alone, snorting as he continued on the cobblestone path through the dungeon.

If only the damned beetles would shut up with their squeaking...
