[DD2] No Eating Here Tonight [DD] - #2 | Mercuras

It wasn't long within the courser's trek down into the fiery depths of the Earthen furnace before he and his corrupted treent could start to hear something that no adventurer ever wanted to hear: the feral, supernatural call of a dangerous hunter. The courser's ears pricked as the hot air was pierced by otherworldly barking as these fearsome bests began to gather together, undoubtably looking to fill thier stomachs with what was lurking around on the dungeon floor.

The couser took a chance and went closer to where the sounds were coming from, peeking through a small divit in the wall where he could see a pack of hellhounds that were beginning to the halls of the furnace, their glowing, molten bones visible beneath their skin. A true being that invoked nothing but terror, however, the courser remained strong, keeping his composure as he looked for his means of escape. The corrupt treent saw what was going on then buried his little head into the adventurer's pouch so he could stay safe and silent. Mercuras then hid behind some rocks so he wouldn’t be seen and slowly snuck his way around the pack. One of the rocks slipped under his hoof, but luckily the barking of the hounds hid the sound so nothing was heard. Once the courser had made it a good distance away, he relaxed and nudged his bag so the treent could look out again on their travels.
