Being only a short ways into the dungeon Callen was already off to a disappointing start. Things had started well enough but it was so dark in here. It didn’t take long for him to stumble into something. Now here he was, stuck between a rock and well, a rock. “Isn’t this just great..?” That was the thought stuck in his head. It was hard to tell how much time was passing, but there was evidence of it. The dark had been overwhelming at first but slowly his pale brown eyes were adjusting. What were originally rough shapes solidified into individual stalagmites scattered about the cavern floor. He could even see the one that originally tripped him up, resulting in the current predicament. When he was hungry he nibbled on nearby moss. When he was thirsty he rose his head to the ceiling's stalactites to catch drips. It was less than ideal, but it kept the hunger pains at bay. If only some other adventurer would wander past but no matter how much he strained his ears he never heard anyone. Though that was probably better than ‘something’. Who knew what was lurking in the shadows. The one thing he didn’t mind was the company of the small bird that visited him. It was hard to tell exactly what sort of bird in the dark but the sweet thing occasionally brought him little treats which eased the pain of his trap. “I don’t suppose you could find someone to help me out, could you?”
