[DD1] crisis averted, but gross
Auryn stews on the pros that come with keeping a mole as a pet, as she winds deeper into the dungeon. He was really quite useful. Sure, he didn't see that well, but Molezart's sense of smell and aptitude for being below ground were really great. He's good company, too. Small enough, doesn't eat much, and overall? Friend shaped. A curious fellow, even if he did lag behind sometimes. Speaking of which, where had he gotten of to? Pausing at the junction of two hallways, Auryn waits for him to catch up.
As they tread deeper into the dungeon, the floor seems to shift. Carpeted in moss, thick and lush, here. At least it's pretty. Much of the light was absorbed by the strange overgrowth on the walls, casting eerie shadows and making her feel less than comfortable. See, another great use for a mole.
It may not help her to be out this far in front of him, though. With a gross squish, Auryn realizes she's stuck her hoof in something. A look of disgust creeping over her face as she reaches down and-- oh, that's. That's not good. Six tentacles, and something suctioned onto the bottom. Ew, ew, ew, her stomach churning at the gross squishing noise it made.
Revolting texture and all, the girl hobbles for a moment on three legs. Unable to get a good look at what was going on beneath her foot, and unable to peel it off with her other three. "Molezart, help please." Calling to her companion who, to his credit, joined her promptly. It's with his help and his help alone that she's able to peel her foot free. It's a rather undignified process, but once the beast is loose, she flings it away with a final kick of her hoof. Gross. Crisis averted, but gross.
