Soul Harvest - Part 3
Hunter saw him, the Harvester wandering the fields of pumpkins and flowers, somehow graceful enough not to step on any of them.
The clanking armor, the giant scythe, all familiar to Hunter from the night he first encountered the blood-red hunter's moon.
Hunter strode toward the spirit, eager to speak with the pumpkin-shaped being about what he saw in the dungeons earlier, but froze just like he was a foal as soon as the Harvester turned to see him. The Harvester seemed confused, but noticed the pouch of soul seeds in Hunter's mouth.
Hunter cleared his throat, trying to shoo away the shock from his bones as he held out his head toward the Harvester, offering the bag. The Harvester's pumpkin face widened into a grin as he took the bag from Hunter's mouth. The pumpkin-faced creature nodded before holding out an object. Hunter was going to ask about the vision, but the handle was in his mouth before he could utter a word.
The stallion realized it was a scythe, and was about to put it on his reins to free his mouth, when-
"Hunter?!" The madder stallion jumped, turning around to see none other than his mother racing toward him. "There you are!" Hunter's overbearing mother knocked him over as she bumped into him, nuzzling his shoulder. Hunter's momentary lapse in concentration allowed the Harvester to disappear. "Hunter, where have you been?! You've made your momma worried sick! Come on, I'm taking you home right now!" Before Hunter could refuse, he felt his momma's teeth grab his ear, making him yelp a bit as she dragged him away from the field.
"Mother! Stop it, I'm not a foal anymore!" He said through the scythe.
"Nonsense! Come along. You've been away for days." She replied, while Hunter narrowed his eyes. However, he couldn't bring himself to pull away, not wanting to break her heart, so he seethed as she pulled him along.
Noctus watched this all happen from his perch on the ledge, leaping from it to swoop down and follow them, though careful to stay out of sight.
Character Arc bonus is for meeting the overbearing mother, which was mentioned a few times before this point.
