[DD2] Noctus, No!
Hunter trotted down the bridge across the lava pit below. Hunter was no idiot; he's arrogant, but he knows better than to mess with lava, so he trotted as carefully as possible. Noctus was watching the flames lick the inside of the brazier they'd brought with them - set tied in a make-shift harness around Hunter's body to keep it from falling.
Hunter smiled as he finally crossed the bridge. "Well, we've made it to the second level. I'd say this is an accomplishment worthy of a break." Just as he was about to rest among some rocks, however, he saw a red and black object.
Hunter's eyebrow raised as he crept closer. Soon realizing it was a salamander, resting on the stone away from the lava. He briefly considered grabbing the little creature and bringing it to the surface, but thought better of it.
If there's one thing Lunar taught Hunter, it was to respect the dungeons. Dungeon salamanders are becoming quite endangered by the looks of it, so bringing it to the surface would be further contributing to a problem. "If only I were more selfish." Hunter spoke with a sigh, snorting with annoyance at his own moral compass. Hunter then realized Noctus wasn't on his back anymore.
"Noctus, no!" Hunter yelled as he heard the scared squeal of a dungeon salamander, able to stop Noctus just in time before the owl could grab the little lava amphibian in its claws.
