To You, Gold Cannot Compare
Some say there is no such thing as love at first sight.
But I know the truth, I set my gaze upon her,
And I saw no superficial traits, a soul bright.
All my usual sense became naught but a blur.
Oh, I made such a fool of myself, I felt then,
Stumbling over words and blushing to my ear-tips.
Her warmth only grew, as she spoke to me again.
Still when I think of Eldregn, my heart always skips,
And now we sit here under the blossoming tree.
As she looks at me, all I can do is gaze back.
I want her in my life to be forever be,
Braiding flowers into my mane, there's no drawback.
Though no being can reach perfection, in my eyes
She is to me a wondrously perfect being
I want to support her and help her reach life's highs.
I bring out the ore, and it feels greatly freeing.
"Though the shine of gold is naught, compared to your soul,
I heard you wish for your eyes to show it, your light.
I confess, you have taken from my heart a toll;
To say, in short... I love you. You set me alight.
If you wish, I would always have you in my life
If you want that, no matter who else comes and goes,
Through each and every strife, glad I would be your wife."
I wait, my face is blushing brighter than a rose.
To my loving worry, Eldregn’s eyes start to tear,
I feel dismay, but I have no need of my fear.
For my love, she speaks up, her voice ever sincere.
"Vakarine," she begins, voice soft, stunned, but I hear.
"...If I could travel to this realm's every corner...
All I would wish was for flowers for your bright mane,
I'd find all flowers there as a strange foreigner...
For in my heart, you are the ruler who does reign.
And yet still, there would be no flower as stunning
As the one that is called 'Vakarine', my true love."
My heart beasts so fast, I might as well be running,
And of where to, it runs to her, my love here of.
The ore is accepted, and her eyes turn to gold.
But more than the ore, she accepts my proposal.
I hope when she sees her eyes, love never grows old,
When she sees, will know I am at her disposal.
The breeze comes by, blowing a few of flowers free,
We stare at each other, hypnotized happily,
And I am content to simply stay here and be
So long as she is the sight that I always see.
