[DD1] WHO ARE YOU?
Prompt: Perched upon a mossy rock is the largest toad you’ve ever seen. Not one of those “big” toads. A truly humongous one. He puffs on a long pipe, blowing smoke from open chambers in his back. His horizontal pupils betray his intelligence. He opens his mouth and speaks to you: “WHO ARE YOU?”

Lhindir had left the path to explore some alcoves he could see in the distance. As he began to approach one he started hearing the sound of water, running water. Following it, he pushed the plant life aside to get to the entrance of the alcove. Pushing aside the last large leaves in his way he revealed a pool of water, a small waterfall coming from the cave wall on the far side. A large stone sat in the middle of the pool, surrounded by strange water lilies, none like he had ever seen up top, and cattails. The plants were not really what caught his eyes though. Atop the large stone sat a toad, a very large toad, twice as big as any courser Lhindir had ever come across.
“WHO ARE YOU?” it asked in a booming and croaky voice.
“Lhindir of The Valley,” he replied.
“WHO ARE YOU REALLY?”
“Lhindir.”
“FOOLISH CREATURE…”
“If you want a more specific answer then you’ll have to reword your question. Unfortunately it is too vague to completely answer. Shall I tell you my life story? Would that satisfy you?”
“WHO ARE YOU?”
The toad proceeded to take a puff of its pipe and blew the smoke right at Lhindir.
“I think I am someone who can not answer your question at this time. Good day.”
Lhindir nodded his head and turned to leave. He heard not another word from the toad and the toad did not follow him either. It was a strange encounter indeed and got Lhindir thinking. What was the toad after from him? The eyes of the creature betrayed an intelligence beyond other creatures he had found in the cavern thus far. It was after a specific answer, but clearly did not want to lay all its cards on the table.
Lhindir decided it was best not to play its game.
