Prompt: An ancient Courser skull has been mounted on the walls of the Caverns and adorned with jewels. The whole scene seems to venerate whoever this once was. It wears a beautiful bridle, but something strange is in its mouth– an uncomfortable-looking metal apparatus that sits behind its incisors, attached to the petrified leather. What do you suppose this was for?

Entering the room, Lhindir knew it was not a natural cave, but made by some intelligent creature with the ability to create intricate things. With the remnants of old furniture like a table and chair, a fireplace with a metal pot still hanging within it, and decor on the walls.
It was impossible not to recognize many of the decor pieces as heads. The heads of various animals and monsters. Some were from up top like the deer, big cats, bears, and other creatures familiar to the courser who lived in such a forested place. Others were new to him but still known, creatures of the dungeons he had only seen art from in his research to help him better navigate this place. Whoever lived here hunted them.
One was unsettling though. The skull of a courser. Adorned with jewels and a bridle with a metal plate below it saying ‘My Beloved Jewel’. It was beautiful and disturbing, but the thing that especially made Lhindir uncomfortable was the metal piece in the mouth, attached to the bridle. He could only imagine the taste of metal in his own mouth as he looked over the strange scene.
“You poor creature,” he whispered.
He imagined it was some control device. Maybe something to force the courser to focus in battle? Regardless, it appeared to be uncomfortable.
