AberrantKapro | Strohmeier / Senbonzakura

Thankfully, the group’s careful and slow pacing worked well in their favour and they got away without waking the beast, what a relief.. Senbonzakura caught back up with the group, still light on his feet and careful ,just to be safe, and gently pulled Strohmeier’s luscious mane to get his attention. Strohmeier’s sharp cold eyes met his golden gaze and they snuggled up as close as they could, considering Strohmeier’s spiky armour. Their feelings had grown, slowly but surely, and without having to speak it out loud, they just knew how the other one felt.

The group had to come to a halt and the feeling of relief they had just experienced faded quickly. A dead end.. This meant they would have to go back and walk past the creature again, unless it had already woken up. What if it would come up behind them and corner them? There was no way they would be able to get away without casualties.

Strohmeier sighed, he felt defeated. He was not looking forward to walking back to the creature to just maybe be able to walk past it undetected again. Just as he started to turn around, he noticed Kinka digging away at the dirt. At first, he didn’t think much of it, just a dog doing dog things, but as she kept digging a coloured piece of stone was revealed. Curious as he was, Micke pounced on the newfound piece of floor, and it made a quiet grinding noise. Strohmeier quickly recognized the sound as the same one they had heard when they had to solve a door puzzle leading to the library where they had been attacked by books.

“Quickly, dig up the dirt. We don’t want the creature waking up and coming here before we can solve it and get out.” Strohmeier said and started helping Kinka dig. Micke also stopped pouncing on the stone and started digging away at the damn dirt to help his master.

Dillyweed | Söl / Rial

It wasn’t the first time they had had to pass by a sleeping creature but it was equally unnerving each time. Every snore could be the creature waking up. This time Söl was extra careful. He took only one step at a time, slowing the party down quite a bit but he was not going to wake the beast again like last time. He looked at the ground before each step. He would not accidentally quick any stones around. And he got through it. Rial had been walking faster than him. But he hadn't woken the beast either. They were safe. Sound and safe. They still walked away carefully. There was no use starting to run when they had managed so well to sneak past it so the team did take its time. Listening carefully for any sounds behind them.

Söl was relieved. He didn’t say anything. But you could see it on his face. There was pure joy on his face. That he had not been the cause of distress for the party was exhilarating. It seemed like this was going better and better, this campaign. They had managed some real hard parts and gained some amazing loot.

Rial was walking in the middle of the group as they left the creature behind them. He had thoughts in his mind. But those thoughts were not easily deciphered. Not even for him. His thoughts were a mess. Yet his face did not betray it. It was so used to his cold exterior that it rarely showed any other emotion. Now despite the battle he had in his mind. He looked as if he was simply enjoying a stroll. He could feel something inside of him. In his chest. In his mind. Something was growing, very slowly, inside of him and he wasn’t worried. The worry he felt that he should have didn’t exist. He sighed quietly to only himself. It couldn’t be too bad if he wasn’t worried.

They arrived at a dead end and Söl couldn’t hide his disappointment. Rial looked at the wall closely. He didn’t want to walk back again. Not because the beast scared him. It didn’t. But because it would be a step backwards and he wanted to move forward. Forward, he felt, was the way they needed to go. Rial turned to the others, as if to ask what they would do. It wasn’t as if they could break down the wall but Stroheimer had already begun digging into the dirt underneath their hooves.
Söl didn’t waste any time and started digging as well. Rial of course helped as best as he could. It didn’t seem to do anything until they hit the puzzle pieces underneath and Rial realized it was a puzzle like that of what they had found before. As they uncovered more of it Söl exclaimed in excitement.
“It’s a Coleoptera Auruvm. The Yellow-spotted Red-legged beetle.” He was extra excited, maybe it meant that they could find the place where this bug likes to live behind the door. Of course the puzzle had an artistic feeling to it. The lines were straight and it looked more like a tribal tattoo than a living creature. But Söl knew the pattern on the back of it. He recognized the beetle even in this artwork. They began moving the puzzle around.
