[MEDIUM] Explosive Results
Obstruction stuck their head through the doorway first, nostrils flaring. He then retracted his head, turning to Splatterpunk.
"There's poison in there." Their tone was completely casual, unaffected. Splatterpunk sighed.
"Poison-?" Happenstance murmured, a look of panic half settling onto his features, and Splatterpunk thunked a hoof on the top of his head, gently, but enough to make him pause. Best thing to do when the apprentice wizard had left his cat at home.
"Elaborate please, Obstruction." Splatter said, clear and loud, before anyone else could start talking and fretting.
"Oh. Well, there's poison in there, innit?" Splatter's scowl prompted them to continue talking. "In the air, I could smell it. It was a hissing sound of it releasing soon as I stuck my head in."
"Right. Well, we've got to just bulldoze on through quick as possible then, likely. Everyone get ready to bolt. Drink some water now, before we're in it."
Everglow made a sound that Splatter would classify as 'mildly annoyed', and began stretching his legs. "How long did the room look?"
"Ehh... long, for a room. Almost more of a hallway, but not long for a hallway."
Everglow seemed unsatisfied with this answer, and peered through the doorway without sticking his face in, squinting. Then he slipped back, ducking next to Splatterpunk again, leaning over to their ear, and murmuring. "Maybe send Flume through first, then - gas can be sensitive to fire, and best to know before..." He gestured his long tail towards Happenstance, who was scanning the corridor behind them nervously.
"... Mm. Alright." Splatter murmured back, then cleared their throat louder.
"Everyone, back off of the doorway a ways - I'm going to have Flume run through, and it may be... reactive. To elementals." All four of the coursers shifted and wandered back away from the door, and Splatter murmured to Flume quietly.
The fire elemental flared up a touch, shaping himself into something a bit like a songbird, wandering over to the doorway - then swooping into the gas filled room with a FWOOSH of flame, diving through into the room.
An ear-piercing crackling sound followed, the gas flaring to flames - smoke pouring out of the room, singing Splatterpunk's nostrils.
"Well. How exactly are we going to get Happenstance through there-?" Everglow said, in a low murmur. Splatterpunk swallowed, and sat down to think, dread in their gut. They'd need to wait until the room cleared again first anyway, at least but.
They dreaded that they'd not find a solution, even so.
"Your party advances into the dungeon.
The moment you enter the next room, a green gas begins to seep through vents in the floor. Your snouts and lungs are choked by a foul odor unlike any your party has ever smelled before, even those who have encountered the dead. The entrance to the next chamber is near, but you’re beginning to feel faint.
Your party must make a Might check to resist the noxious gas."
