[DD2] Poor Thing...

The pathway seemed odd, and way hotter than usual. “Logue, is it just me or is it really hot?” I asked. Logue didn’t answer right away. “Logue?” I asked. “Sorry, yeah it does seem pretty hot.” Logue sighed.

The pathway literally looked like it was on fire, with the tiles being reds and oranges. As we kept going, we saw a beautiful room, stuffed with treasure. I walked carefully behind Logue. “Remember the mouth?” He asked. “Yeah?” I said, looking at the treasure. “Well shit just got even weirder.” Logue said quietly. “Why?” I asked, Logue moved a little bit to the left, and I could see what he was talking about.

A cloaked someone was standing before us. It was on fire, but the cloak wasn’t burning. “I want that cloak.” I chuckled. A smile crept up Logue’s face. I couldn’t see the someone’s face, but as they held out a hand I realized what misery that cloak was. It seemed to be the one creating the fire, its hand blistered and burned. “Nevermind.” I whispered.

With its hand still outstretched, I decided to give it a piece of gold from one of the boxes near me. As I dropped it in its hands, the cloak fell to the ground, and the flames ceased. “You have been chosen. Thank you for freeing me.” It said, and just disappeared into thin air. “What?” I said turning around, but Logue was no longer there. “Logue?!” I called out, to no reply.

A cloaked figure engulfed in flame appears before you, its face indistinguishable under its smoldering hood. It holds out blistered hands as if asking you for something. Do you oblige it?
