[MEDIUM] And Again
So Corvus had nearly gotten them drowned by a tidal wave of blood and gore that had proceeded to dump them unceremoniously back at the dungeon's entrance, big fuckin' deal. They'd still gotten a cool sword out of it, and it would be a good opportunity to return to their makeshift camp they'd set up earlier in the day and regroup. Now that they knew what to expect from this dungeon, so they could better prepare for the second dive. Besides, Corvus wouldn't have minded a quick nap. Chances were, she'd be in a better mood afterwards, so really, it was in the party's best interest.
Alas, nothing could go as planned, and when they returned to the little clearing they'd settled in, they were met with a horde of bandits ransacking the place. Corvus gave a heavy groan and tossed her head in exasperation, though it was Gambit who stepped forward and challenged these ne're-do-wells. "Hey!" he called sharply, stomping his hoof in the dirt. "These supplies are ours!"
Immediately, each bandit's head snapped up and turned in the party's direction, and Corvus braced herself for all hell to break loose. From the corner of her eye, she saw Gambit draw the lethal cleaver from the skeleton chamber. She spared a glance toward Rattler and Pandora and cocked her head. "I guess we're doing this?"
In the end, it was Corvus that couldn't resist the tombs call and got them all tossed on their haunches outside. Go figure.
Pandora found she didn't mind really mind, however, and Rattler's disposition lightened with a little bit of effort. It wasn't all bad. Gambit was sporting a new sword, and they'd all learned something. The whole thing had been a worthwhile venture, and Pandora's adventure quota for the day had most certainly been met. She was ready, as were the others, to return to their makeshift camp for some well deserved R&R. Corvus needed a nap, she had a bad case of the grumpies.. but as fortunes would have it, a simple return was not in the cards.
Pandora had been hanging back with Rattler, who'd conveniently gotten a stone lodged between her cloven hooves, when the familiar sound of Ransacking caught her ear. It was Gambit's shout that spurred them both into action, Pandora leaping to stand beside Corvus and Gambit. Rattler, however, was the first to act. Even as Corvus turned to her, the heraldic had burst out of the tree line and was descending upon the nearest bandit. Gambit thundered behind her, sword glinting as he swung it in a great arc.
"After you!" Pan shouted, dropping a wink at Corvus before launching herself towards the furthest bandit.
You head back to your makeshift camp to rest after a brief but perilous exploration of a pit nearby. When you return, you find that another adventuring party has taken up residence and is rummaging through your treasure! Diplomacy is ineffective; these ruffians won't move unless you move them.
Your party must make a Might check to take back their camp!
