[MEDIUM] Trust Earned - Tiber
We strode into a chamber that was filled with towering columns, all with ivy trailing in every direction over them. There were faded water marks halfway up the enormous walls, as though at some point this cavern had been a cistern filled with water. Thin shafts of light shot down from the ceiling, highlighting certain spots of the floor in bright white-blue, and casting enough light for us to see by. Out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw movement over by one of the pillars, though when I looked, I couldn't see anything. Wulfe was stood next to me, and also turned his attention to the place where I thought I'd seen something. Cal was to my left, and Kraken to his left, and they were both staring out into the massive cavern infront of us. With the beams of light coming down from the ceiling, it seemed otherworldly, and beautiful in an eerie way. I had just written off the movement I'd seen as the light playing tricks, when it happened again, this time on the far side of Kraken. This time, the shadow was much much bigger, and just as I opened my mouth to call out a warning, I felt something wrap tight around my hind leg, and PULL. I heard soft thuds and Cal's familiar snort of fear as the others were similarly pulled - Wulfe and I one way, Cal and Kraken the other. Wide eyed, I struggled as hard as I could, to no avail. Before I could so much as make a noise, I was caught between two of the pillars, Wulfe a meter or so to my right, with bands of shadows wrapped around us both, and one stretching between the two of us. Wulfe was struggling frantically too, his wide eyes focused on Kraken on the other side of the cavern.
The shadow that stretched between us was pulled taut by my shoving against it, but taut wasn't enough. I looked at Wulfe and our eyes met. In his I finally saw what Cal had seen a while back - trust.
I closed my eyes, and heaved a deep breath.
"Together?"
"Together."
